Dyrham Park Country Club's beautiful Palladian Mansion is ranked among the oldest and most handsome of Hertfordshire venues. Set in 200 magnificent acres of a secluded estate, it offers glimpses of a stately past, while offering every modern luxury surrounded by one of the best Hertfordshire golf courses.
Like so many historical places, the spelling of "Dyrham Park" has evolved over the centuries. Sometimes called Derham, it was recorded as the home of John Durham in the fourteenth century and remained the family home for nearly six hundred years. It wasn't until 1880 that it became known as Dyrham Park. The estate passed into County Council ownership in 1938 until the stately atmosphere was revived when Dyrham Park Country Club was founded in the early 1960s.
The mansion house has been beautifully restored to its former glory and today offers every comfort. The magnificent Grand Hall with its elegant sweeping staircase and Minstrel's Gallery is the jewel at the heart of the mansion. At the northern end of the estate, a magnificent gateway, possibly built to celebrate the coronation of King Charles II, stands close to the 15th tee.
